The sun rose high into the sky, banishing the darkness of the night away with the coo of the seagulls and the call of the ocean. The docks started to fray into life, men still not awake enough started manning boats and preparing for the morning round ups and drop offs.
The men of the 'three duckies' however where in for a morning a little bit more crazy than most. And the cabin boy, a young lad on work exprience came running and yelling back down the boat from the mast.
Autumn was semi-conscious, and she was a mess. Beaten and brushed, cold with the nights chill and slumped like a ragdoll against the mast pole of her granfathers boat. She'd spent two nights with Kyran and his buddies, and if there was a bone that wasn't broken she'd be lucky. If she was anyone else she'd of been dead.

It was Angus who got to her first. He cried out because despite all the blood and such, he knew it was his Autumn. An ambulance was called for as they hooked back onto the docks. Angus never let go of her. His first mate went and met the EMTs. Together, they got her into the ambulance and headed directly towards the ER. Her grandfather went with her.

When she blinkered into conscious there was a tube in her throat and Tam gagged on it lazily, trying to move and realising that really f**k**g hurt. So, giving in to immobility, she opened her eyes, waited for the blur to settle and let her eyes fix on what was around her...what the fuck was going on?

Vikram was first to arrive. Tam's Grandmother had called him- He'd left a business card before he left last time. He lied, telling her that he was in for business- That's why he and Tam had been there. Then he'd flashed to the surface. Angus looked at him when he surfaced, eyes filled with emotion.

Autumn kept slipping in and out, she could hear voices, familiar ones and sometimes she caught what they were saying but mostly it was just a rumble of words. Her eyes closed heavily, and she was desturbed by something peircing her arm. They opened again in a flash and she stared up at the nurse. "Just putting an IV in for you sweety, nothing to fret over."
She checked Tams chart, and Tam saw the pity in the nurses eyes. She growled, or at least, she was growling in her head.
"Are you her next of Kin?" the doctor inturupted the men, looking over the new arrival.

Vikram nodded, "Im her fiancee."
"Sorry, Sir, blood relatives or husbands-"
"Oh fu-"
Angus raised his hand and the young man stopped. Despite Vikram's anger, Angus had earned his respect. "Im her Grandfather, aye. We've called her parents and they're on their way."

Angus nodded, "I'll sign. You just make sure my little ducky stays alive."
