Nate chuckled. "What can I say, things wouldnt of changed if Id stayed behind in this dump." He winked, playfully. "I want to be honest with you, Beth. I have never had any interest in marrying Sammy."
"Excuse me?" Aaron was frowning.
"Oh, sir, dont get me wrong, Sam's turned into the most beautiful woman Ive ever seen, but I remember the cute little 11year old. This was all my fathers idea, even though, I see it turning into a good idea..perhaps."

Beth sat back, "Nate, Im not sure whether to be offended or refreshed by your honesty." She admitted with a smirk, "Perhaps you would like to secure your claim with a sentiment a little less condescending."

Nate eyes were sparkling, and he did just that. "Sammy, do you trust me?"
She looked startled. "You've never given me reason not to."
"And the others, the prats? Mitchel?"
"Do I trust them?"
"yes.-?"
Sammy wondered where this was going. "They have never given me reason too."

Parker leaned back in his chair, watching Nate go to work but also the expression of the Queen. After all, their plan was all well and good but it was Beth who would have to approve it. Right now, she looked more amused than anything; which boded well. Being a Black, she of course loved a good bit of fun. Parker, lastly, looked at Aaron and shrugged a little.

"you've calmed down." Aaron told him, it wasn't a question. "What should I know?" He knew the boy well enough by now, and having seen Parker react badly to everyone else why was this different suddenly.
Nate chuckled softly, and added, "Its not only advantages to our country, Beth, but you won't be stuck with an old elder sodden bastard who'll write you out of the chain of command the second he gets your neice in the sack."

Parker shrugged, "I know Nate. He'll- He will treat our Princess as she should be treated. Think of it this way, Lord Advisor, it will be less blood to clean off the flagstone."
Beth laughed softly, "You think in all my years of being Queen, Nate, that no one else has ever tried to charm me onto their side? I've held this throne independently all these years by avoiding listening to men like yourself." She motioned for the servant to bring them in a tea service. "Besides youth, as you pointed out, and letting me stick around, what else would you bring to our throne?"

Aaron looked suspicious, all the same.
Nate laughed softly. "Charm you, my queen? Please, this is not charm, this is mere honesty where others feel the need to lie."
Sammy felt like a present, being passed around. She rosed, and collect the tea from the servant. "Let me-" The servant looked horrified, but Sammy smoothed it over, and made tea. It gave her a moment to be close to Parker, as she made his last, she touched her fingers to the back of his hand.

Parker's eyes went to Sam's and his stomach flipped with a mere touch of her fingers. "Thank you, ussta jallil. Though you will provoke the servants as our Queen does if you keep insisting on serving our tea."
Beth nodded, "You still haven't mentioned why I should consider you as a match, my Lord."
