He ran his fingers through his hair again, and again. And sighed, nodding. "yeh.. yeh ok." And Brad scooped up the twins.
Sammy moved when she was guided, and with a last look at his sister Brad and the kids vanished, reappearing at his mothers forest paradise. Far enough away from the shadow attack that was shattering the village parts of Gaia.

*** It was the middle of the night before Beth came home. The moon hung high over the village and left it seeming like a ghost town. She blinked right to her living room and saw all of her her nieces and nephews cuddled onto the floor in front of the fire place on a stack of blankets. Hearing whispers, she went to find her parents and Brad in the office. "Hey-" It looked like a party. The darkest sort. All her family who should have been here was here and it made her feel a little better that none were missing from her ranks.

Cadee was awkwardly asleep on Aram's lap, she'd been listening to the adults conversation before exhaustion go to her and she dozed.
Brad hadn't said much. He couldnt explain what had happened because he didnt know. He couldnt talk about it because it made him sick and angry.
Jay had talked the most, he'd been out into the village, and by now the Circlet had killed or rounded up most of the humans with the help of Cals lads. Those who were alive had been locked away until the morning. Those who were dead where to be lined up on the human side of the border- a reminder to the red hands that they weren't welcome... Tristan had told him Hayden was more than ready to take the war to the humans, and Jay knew it meant talking the king down....
When Beth appeared Brad looked up; when he didnt see Daisy he panicked. "beth?"

Beth pulled him from the room for a minute, chewing on her lip. "Daisy's with Ais and my kids in the trees. She's- well she's not doing so well. I think she's in shock, Brad, and I didn't think bringing her back here would do here any good. At least there, she's away from it all. Ais'll keep an eye on her and Roman's already trying to read her a story and feed her cereal. She'll be fine, I promise."

"I want to see her." he told his twin, distressed now.
"Easy brad." Jay soothed, his hand going to his sons shoulder. "Let her have some time to work everything out before you barge in there."
"Barge in there?!!" He snarled.
Jay winced. "My point proven. Your angry, and Daisy seems to be fragile right now- tht's not going to be good for her."

She nodded, "You know Ais will get her to settle. If my husbands good at anything, its being calm." Beth held his hand, "I promise, Brad. She'll be fine."

Brad shrugged and went to find his kids. Not wanting to disturb the sleeping tots all in bed together he found Sammy on the sofa, crying into her pillow BRad just curled her up, and her tears released his anger.

Beth went to follow but Noel stopped her. "He needs to be with his kids. Why don't you sit with us while I go tuck Cadee into a bed?"
"Yeh, of course." And the Eldest Black-Godric put on her Queen face. Coming in, she sat across from her Dad. "Tell me what's happening?"
