Keely woke with a start in the middle of the night. The waking was nothing unusual to her. Being pregnant often made her sick and tired, she'd even become relatively docile in the last 8 months. The difference in tonight and other disturbed nights was that she woke with a start, and sat stright up in bed. The Spanish night air clinging to her naked form. Panting, it was strange to watch her breath form clouds in the air and it brought around the realisation that her internal temperature was soaring. Those moments of clarity sent Keely out of bed and onto the ground as her skin burst into flames. She didn't scream as the fire washed over her; she only felt like someone was smearing warm oil over her skin. The flames flickered and flared for a whoole minute before going out and plunging the bedreroom into darkness once more. Keely leant over on all fours on the cold paved floor, panting hard. |

Eli had learned better than to react badly to things like this. Most of the time, it just caused Keely to mock him. Tonight however, he starred at her and took a deep breath to stop from over reacting. "Keely?" He reached out, not quite sure if he should touch her yet. "Are you alright? Is it the baby?" When she didn't react right away, he moved so he could see her face. The bed was still scortched and he figured they wouldn't be getting a lot of sleep tonight any ways. "Should I call someone? Maggie, Tam or Freya? Luc?" Really, he was desperate to make sure she was okay. After all, the demoness had become central to his life and his heart. Didn't he love her? Wasn't Keely the unofficial Lady to the Vampires of Spain who revelled in her own Hellish decadence? |

For a moment she didn't hear him, there was a dull buzzing in her ears and her vision was black. Keely just knelt very still, concentrating on her breathing. Slowly her hearing came back first, and his words came into focus. Like coming out of water, she eard only the end of his sentence. "No." Keely managed on a dry mouth, her tongue tasting like smoke.
She shook her head, trying to clear her vision. It didn't work straight away. Keely hunched back on her heels, listening carefully, trying to work out where he was. "Its ok." She murmured, feeling the stress in his voice and knowing he was trying not to panic. "Its not me, and its not the baby. Its Vein." She explained, calmly.

He nodded slowly and only because he couldn't quite put his mind around it. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he stroked back her hair. "Is it the eggs? Does this mean they're hatching?"

She jumped, having not expected him to be so close as he touched back her hair. Keely blinked, her eyes still not focusing properly and her skin felt oldly raw. "Yes- I don't know..probably." She murmured, finding his wrist with her fingers, and pulling his hand into her lap, holding it with both of her own.

She laughed a little, and followed the path of his arm to lean back into his boy. "Shes your bloody dragon and its yor bloody fault shes laying at all, so I should damn well think you'd be there." Keely laughed.

He chuckled, "Well if you'd like to say it like that then sure."
