Callum held up a hand, "Cissy, back off, okay?" His voice remained calm and he didn't move either. Instead, he placed a hand on Cissy's back to calm her down and let her know it was okay. After all, he may need her beating skills later but he wasn't jumping to conclusions. After Dare left, he remained smiling. "So, Lexi, I hear you've come back with Jordyn. Well, I guess you could have picked worse company." "Well, Lexi, I'll put this to you plainly. In Gaia, we don't like strays. They don't make it long. Normally, they get hunted by the pack and killed. Luckily, you came in with a sure fire ticket. No one would defy Jordyn. She may not be Alpha but we all trust in her judgement. If she saw something in you? Well then I have to trust in that." He looked to Cissy again, "You want to go wrangle your Aunt? Ask her to come here?"

Even though she still had to get on his good side, when Lexi heard him say "back off", in that moment she was grateful to Cal. She listened carefully to his words, head bowed as instructed by Jordyn (Eye contact bad, she reminded herself) but noted in a quick eye flick, that he was still smiling. She wondered if that meant more trouble, or if it was a good sign. She did not reply to him, because he had not yet directed anything to her that needed an answer. She remembered the rules.
Once she saw Cissy leave to look for who she assumed was Jordyn, her frame instantly relaxed a little. Removing a threat will do that to a being. She took a breath in, realizing that she hadn't consciously done so since she arrived here. She watched Cal, & waited. Anymore waiting & she felt her heart might explode. Nerves were not meant for this.

After what seemed like an eternity, Lexi's anxiety began to get the better of her & she transferred her weight from one foot to the other. It has been too quiet between the two while waiting for Jordyn to return. Forgetting herself for just a bit, she tried for friendly small-talk, but her annoyance rushed out before she could control it.
"Man, this is killing me. What could be taking so long?" She quickly shut her mouth again, as Cal turned to look at her, so she explained, all mouth & no muzzle now that the floodgates were open.
"I'm sorry. I don't do well with quiet, or possibly getting judged?" She grinned nervously. "I have no idea what's gonna happen here, I just know that I met Jordyn & she seemed nice & was the only other of our kind I had met since my brother passed, so when she said I could follow her home (pardon the pun) of course I jumped at it! I need to belong somewhere."
She took a breath, quite possibly her first conscious one since entering this room, & looked to Cal.
