Jay was about to make it ffect Aram. "Sophia, the reason Aram is here, is because the likely hood of you carrying an Elf is 99% right now. If the prophecy comes to light and you do give birth to the five heirs, then the elf will need tutaliage. However- Miriel is not...a welcoming place...and while I trust Beth and eventually Sams judgement they are both women, and though the elders make their lives difficult at the best of times they are given freer passes because they are born in the image of the goddess.
The elfin heirs best hope of success- and changing Miriel, because it needs to have its traditions re-assessed- is through the eyes of an elf with no reason to love it."

Aram snorted, "You mean me? An elf who's cut his ties?" Anger appeared in the elf's voice- An emotion that was generally so foreign to him. "Jay, I don't know-"
"You'll have to be sure if you're the one to guide my son." Sophia spoke now; impassioned as she knew what Jay said was the truth. She'd felt a foreign entity inside of her, one she couldn't identify. Vampire, witch, wolf- Some part of her registered each of those because of her and Hayden but Elf was completely strange to her.

"You're twisting my words Aram- and you have no right to be angry with me." Jay said, a little sharply. But he agreed with what Sophia had to say, even if Aram's choice in the matter was limited.

Aram's face darkened. "You dont need to take that tone with me, Sire. It's not exactly like I'm being given a choice." But his hand rested on Sophia's arm, "I'll help you- But only because you're family."

Jay was beginning to see a light in Aram he didn't like. Head tipped just slightly to the side he watched the elf. Before asking; "Do you have a problem you'd like to voice, kid?"

The witch held up her hand, afraid a fight would start. "Jay, please, he's agreed to help. Just leave it at that." Her soft smile went to Aram's face and she could feel the fear at the prospect of being back in Miriel.

Jay watched them together for a moment; then addressed Sophia graciously. "my lady queen." He nodded, with a smile, and kissed her cheek. "sorry, soph, you know us old guys don't enjoy retirment." He teased gently. "Aram- forgive me, I should of asked, but I got so caught up...well, yes."

Sophia nodded, "Thank you."
Aram nodded and murmured an acceptance of his appology.
