Three days ago Hayden had recieved news from across the border that the magic was crumbling. Three days ago he had recieved intel that on the other side was a hord of humans....preparing for a fight, preparing to bombared Gaia. Three days ago he had been forced to lock himself in his study and face up to the facts. He'd gone to speak to Cal first. The wolves were on border patrol, they lived closest (other than the farm) and he had told Cal that he had to send the boys out- in three days forces of immortals would be leaving gaia. Or so he had told Cal. He was two days away from that deadline. Hayden had called the leaders in to see him. He had invited his father to sit as advisor and had called Beth from the trees. The celebrations of weddings weren't enough to keep the elves out of this in some capacity. He'd also called to Eli; asking for his presence as representative of the vampires. His mother sat in the convent seat. Then he'd called to Apollo; his brother in law, and asked for a member of hells seats to sit and listen. He knew hell was a different game, he knew they lived on the war and it excited them, but he also knew they had people they loved and wondered how far he could get the hellions to stretch their protection...for now? The final guest, and chair was for Tom West. Even if he loathed him, Hayden accepted that Tom was running an elite force. As the group gathered, servants poured drinks, and Hayden sat as silence fell. Then he said, in darkened tones. "War has come to Gaia. We are no longer protected from the humans."

Beth came down from the trees though she had to admit this wasn't the most pleasant of circumstances. She left the girls and Ro with Ais, to continue with the festivities of Samantha and Nate's wedding. Sensing his need, she had brought Parker with her so he could escape what had to be the hardest day of his young life. The lad sat just behind her, where Aaron normally sat, as he was appenticing under her own Advisor. "Parker, take note." She murmured softly, "As you've never formally come to Gaian court with me. It's much different than our own." * Cali had come as a witch but begrudgingly. She thought Sophia or one of the Priesteses should be here... But her son had asked and she rarely spoke against Hayden. Especially in public. She sat in a dark dress, looking worn. She, Noel, Tristan and Jay had been up to the early hours of dawn discussing the issues surrounding the boarder. And they hadn't come up with anything good. This was a different battle than the one they had fought before. And right now? There wasn't an easy way out. Already they had started to move people inwards, away from the boarder lands. With the exception of the wolves but weren't the furry mongrels always an exception. She cracked her fingers, looking across the table at her nephew. * Eli looked back but, when Hayden spoke, broke his gaze. "And how much time do we have?" He asked, voice deep. In the last few years he had come into his Princehood and was the ruler everyone expected and knew he could be. "Have any of our sources provided feedback?"

Hayden spoke quietly, his voice carrying on the silence. "Hours." He said and there was an edge of darkness in his voice. "I have put orders in place, the brothers of the circlet are moving the families closest to the boarder and have brought them to the lower quaters of the castle for their safety. "Aaron's moving as many supplies as they can from the farmwarehouses, and some of the witches are there helping them."
"I am hoping to turn Gaia into a defensive strong hold, and move the battle off our lands and back onto theirs...but there will be a battle, and there will be fighting."

Cal looked up, "And this is where the pack comes in." He leaned back in his chair, arms crossed over his chest as he talked it over out loud. "We're prepared to look after the boarders. We'll be the first line of defense."

"I had hoped you'd say that." He nodded. "The wolves will hold, for the most here, while the vampires and the elves go the otherside of the boarder."

"And what of the witches and the elementals?" Beth asked, "Will they be fighting too?"
Cali was tempted to say something much more sarcastic but instead she nodded, "The Witches will be guarding the barracks. After all, the majority of the coven is women and will be inside the barracks anyways."

"Sluts." Apollo teased in the most sweet of natures, a charming grin and a wink on his face.

"You would know, Apollo Christos, you married one." Cali retorted, smirking at Lu who rolled her eyes. The wolf was clearly on guard.
