Charity was a little destressed, and she hadn't know what to really do about it. She'd gotten in from work in the early hours of the morning to find a letter waiting for her. The contents of which had kept her up through out the night.
Until the sun rose she sat with her daughter, and while the child just slept throughout, Charity had done several things. She'd cursed under her breath, she'd cried several times, she'd had one too many strong drinks and she'd purged her system robotically.
Then she'd led for a while just watching her perfect little girl sleep, because despite everyhting that had happened to Grace, who her father was, the powers they'd removd and the powers they'd caged until she was a teenager- none of it mattered.
Chatty had finally decided to go and see Lucy. Lucy would be the most likely suspect to be able to help her. And while she knew it was barely 7am she needed someone who wasnt going to sugar coat this for her. Daisy would probably cry and Beth was in Miriel and out of Charity's reach. Her father would get mad and she couldn't bare breaking this to anyone else right then.
The letter had explained everything so uglily. Josh was taking her to court, for custody - sole custody - of their daughter. He was demanding the right to see his daughter, and was challanging Charity's fittness to be a mother. It even outlined conditions, when- yeh the letter said when and not iff- the custody of the 'child involved' was given to Josh charity's rights to see her daughter would be stripped until a phsycial and psycoanalys could be completed. Then the courts would decide what rights she would get.
Chatty tapped the door to the lakehouse, her daughter in her carry cot, reaching up and tugging on Chatty's fingers as they grippd the handle, practically white with rage and fear.
