To help you make a richer, more informed decision on what your character will be and why, I've made up a handy, dandy reference on all the major types here at Twig. These are in reference to our world specifically so something a vampire can do here may not apply to all other sites.
Species: Witch Lycan and other animal shifters Vampire Elf Fey Dryad Humans Elementals Shapeshifters

Double, double, boil and trouble- Lets admit it, Macbeth's witches were ugly as sin and had as much hex appeal as your great aunt Bubbi. The witches here are beautiful, smart and sexy. You won’t find a wart on their pretty noses. On Twig, the witches run in a coven system and rarely will you find a solitary practitioner. They normally stick to one type of magic. For instance: Blood, Earth, Dark. Again, most of the witches here run on the good side of things. No wands are needed for them but you can use one if you'd like. These girls (and potentially boys) aren’t trapped in a Harry Potter World. Come and howl at the moon. Although lycans can transform at any time they choose after they survive their first change, most of them save it for the full moon. The change takes incredible amounts of energy. Weres don't have flashy powers but they all share a few things in common. They have strength beyond that of a normal human and, maybe it’s just our special Twig lycans, they tend to be stubborn and mischievous.

Black silk voices and seductive looks, the vampires of Twig are all you’ve ever dreamt of. They run a feudal type system, Princes and Lords and Ladies, without a title, they are very little. They rule with a cold heart and their money. Though most follow the Immortal King, they still follow their own internal structure. Don’t be surprised if you get a knife in the back- Or maybe fangs in the neck would be more appropriate. There are some good vampires, don’t get us wrong but don’t expect it. You wont find these elves in tights- Or at least, we'd hope not. Looking mortal with the exception of their pointy ears, they blend in well in both worlds. Like the vampires, they have their own system of how things work, though it’s a little more forgiving. Most are vegetarians and their magic is green. They have attachments to nature, doing better among actual forest then a concrete jungle. A favourite with mortals, they’re not allowed to cause harm but this is a time of war and rules aren’t the same. Just because this is a passive race, doesn’t mean they’re pushovers.

Picturing children with wings? Well think again. The Fey are an ancient line that look like everyone else- Until they reveal their monarch wings. Mischievous and high energy, they like to be the life of the party. They also are very in touch with nature but can contain other gifts too. They traditionally live in courts, very much like those of the medieval times. It breeds a certain amount of snobbery into them. Shy and passive, Dryads try not to stand out. They are attached to their trees from seedling to full growth and their health depends on that of their natural companion. Many groves were destroyed during the war and a lot of them passed on but some trees were saved and moved into Gaia. They have weak forms of magic that are Green based and normally appears in the form of healing. Muggles, mortals, snacks- They're called different things depending who you ask. The adversary in this war they've gotten a less than stellar reputation among the mortals. Some are good though, just like immortals and others are bad. They come with a range of talents and gifts.

They’re among us. They’re your mailman and your second grade teacher and the man on the bus. Only you don’t know they’re there. Shapeshifters, unlike lycans, can change at will without the same level of pain and wear and tear. Their physiology is made to contain their single to multiple forms. Generally, their form is based on their family’s forms- passed down. Unlike lycans also, they don’t necessarily have a pack instinct. As basic staples of life, elementals have basic personalities. Not saying they’re boring or flat but they like the four f’s of life: fighting, fleeing, feeding and… well you get the picture. Now they are ruled by the element that they possess. So don’t expect a shadow elemental to be most forthcoming or a water elemental to be the rock of Gibraltar. They tend to have large families and to stick all together despite their volatility.
