Personality: Bethany has a… complex personality to say the least. Now, we're not hailing her as a great puzzle with no crackable code but she's definitely deeper than your average puddle. Again, lets start with the fact that she's a Black- This means certain things to those within the Gaian circles. She's stubborn, a slight perfectionist, thinks she's always right… and loves you unconditionally if you let her.
Beth has a good soul but you have to get under all the brambles before you can see her. She often relies too heavily on a staunch attitude or quick wit to get her out of uncomfortable situations. Most of the time, it takes Jay to talk her down- After all, she's a daddy's girl. Beth is loyal to those who prove loyal to her, she's loving and extremely overprotective.
History: Noel once told Beth that she was the daughter she had been dreaming about since she was thrown into the crazy role as Seer for the King- That she always knew that Bethany would be her daughter. This little secret between Mother and daughter shaped the girl's life. Born as the first child to Noel and Jay, Beth made way for her four brothers and sisters including her twin, Brad.
Unlike Brad, who remembers very little of growing up, Beth remembers it all. She inherited the best and worst of her parents' gifts. Though she tended to be more Elf than vampire, she was an open vessel to her Mother's telepathy, empathy and clairvoyance. So worried was Noel, she took her to see Imann, their adopted Aunt, who told Noel that Beth was being poisoned by her and that she would need to stay at the Daxxen temple in order to ever lead a normal life. Not willing to part with her daughter, Beth was brought home and to her Uncle Tristan. Of course, he knew what was wrong right away and helped Beth control her gifts- The two had a strong bond ever since.
Around the same time, Jay was crowned King of Miriel, making Noel his Queen. The children (Aaron was around then) didn't really know what was happening more than the fact they got to go to a party in Daddy's homeland. Beth loved Miriel, she felt safe there and flourished in the trees magic. All along, she had to keep an eye out for her brother, Brad, who often caused mischief. The night of the coronation, Beth met a little elf girl named Daisy. Rather, Brad met the little blond and she ended up stuck with the two of them. Right away, Beth knew the little blond loved her brother which would lead to a rivalry that would almost break up their friendship… Of course, that's a story for later on.
At eight, Beth had her first boyfriend. Of course it was just puppy love but who can deny such a sweet experience for a child? Of course, it turned out to be anything but. Bradley was extremely protective of her when the boy was around and never gave them any sense of peace. After one particularly bad playdate, Beth had stormed off to be on her own and she had a vision. In it, the boy was dead and she was clutching to his body, a bloody crown adorning her head. After that, Beth swore off love and anything to do with it.
If life hadn't been chaotic enough up to that point, it was just about to get worse. The two children, playing in the relative peace Gaia enjoyed with parts of the mortal world, were captured by a mob and throne into a cage. Once the humans learned that the two drew strength from each other, they were separated and beaten in front of each other. The first beating almost killed a frail Bethany and watching her twin in such pain almost made it worse. When they had both been beat to the point of unconsciousness, they were throne back together. Beth could make small amounts of vegetation, mostly leaves, grow in the dirt floor of their cell. They nourished her enough that she was able to feed Brad her blood.
Finally, when they were rescued and rushed home to safety, the twins experienced another separation in their lives. Noel tended to her son while Jay cared for her. For Beth it was hard because she'd already transitioned from Brad drinking blood packs to hunting animals- Now that he had tasted human blood, his mother knew he would crave it and she had to reign that in. Jay knew what it was like to be fed upon and made sure his daughter had no residual scarring from being her brother's sustenance. Of course Beth saw it as a necessary thing and didn't fault Brad- Just the mortals.
As they grew up, the twins of course experienced different things but they still spent most of their time with each other and Daisy. The girl was their third until it was announced she'd have to go home and meet her betrothed, become a true lady. Beth begged with her parents to stop it but they couldn't and she knew that. After that point, Brad began to indulge more into his vampiric nature and Beth began to train with Grandpere. She never told anyone how helpless she felt being locked in the cages with Brad fighting for her. So she learned hand to hand combat, knife and sword training. Her body became physically prepared to fight as her mind was.
Things tend to change fast in the world and the next set of changes, well Beth just wasn't ready for them. Daisy's fiancée died the day Beth had smuggled her into the palace for a kiss with Brad. Next thing she knew, the two were practically married and then engaged. To make matters worse, Lucy, her cousin and best friend was pregnant. It seemed like the whole world was conspiring to point out to her the hopelessness of her vow to never love anyone but her family- And Beth went into a tailspin, ended up in a very dark place. She moved out of her house and into the King's Manor in Miriel. Not even her Father could talk sense into her… It took a run in with a Sandman to straighten her out but again, that's a story for another day.
Two Years Later: Maybe more than anyone, Beth's life has changed drastically. What to name first? Aislin, the Sandman and she fell in love- Much to everyone's displeasure. She almost lost her twin over it and came to odds for maybe the first time with Jay over the fact she loved him. Beth also took the throne after her Father was presumed dead when captured by Red Hand forces. The Elves are quick to stir in their politics and the Godrics had to make a move before two many threatened to take the crown from them. After the young woman ascended the throne, she had to learn quickly what it meant to be Queen. And that came with an arranged marriage with a Fey. Unfortunately the match caused a rift between her and her lover. Not that her twin was any happier about it. Luckily, his Queen, Honor, saw through his charade and not only broke the match but sentenced him to death.
Beth reunited with Aislin and found herself in a family way. The first person she told besides Aislin was Brad. Of course, then the entire found out. Eventually, after a rather chaotic dinner where Brad and Aislin made some sort of peace, things settled down and Beth was just had to concentrate on being a Queen and preparing for her first child. No big deal, right? She and Aislin also had to live together now that they existed in the same realm. Though, it seems to be working for them.
Now, feeling more secure in her reign, Beth is a confident young Queen. She has earned the support and respect of her council and has the difficult duty of being a war time Queen. Not only that but she's pregnant with a set of twins. Yes, it seems they do run in the family.
