Stodd in the hallway of her fathers house Charity was bidding goodbye to the kids. Grace was content in her grandfathers arms, cuddling in and watching them closely. The tiny red tot didnt want them to leave, or really understood why they were leaving. "It's just two days, Gracey." She promised her daughter, "You and Ali have a holiday here with grandpa and then we'll fly you out to see us and you'll get to meet daddy's family." Grace snuggled into Luc's shoulder, sucking her thumb. It was the second part that made charity nervous. Meeting calebs family was something she hadn't done before- with anyone. She hadn't gone serious enough for long enough with anyone to meet the family. Though she supposed their two year old son spoke volumes for how serious they were. She'd even been prepped by Kenna on the worse case scenario. Kneeling to Ali's height she smiled and wrapped her big boy in a hug. SHe'd never left him before, not for a night not like Grace. She'd left Grace every night she worked, Caleb had insured it so she didnt need to do that ever again. "Be a big boy yeh? You have to look after Gracey for Mommy, and Grandma." She hugged him tightly, kissing his had; "I even packed iya for you." The toy dog he wouldnt sleep without.

The good Doctor was nervous about this trip though not for the same reasons his lovely partner was. They were going to see his family, yes; He was introducing her to them for the first time. The thing that was worrying his was leaving their children behind. He hated the look his little girl was giving her and even more the way Ali hadn't spoken to him since Caleb had announced Charity was going too. "Give Daddy one last kiss, baby?" He held out his arms to Grace. "I promise I'll see you in a couple days." Luc handed his Granddaughter over to his son in law. Or whatever he was. He watched them carefully and hugged his own daughter before allowing her to tend to her own son. He wasn't sure about this. Like he hadn't been sure about letting (as much as he could let) Kenna go to America with Adam. What was it with his daughters marrying Americans? Pff. He leaned back against the wall, watching the little family say their goodbyes. Holding out one finger to his Mom, he looked her dead in the eye. "Pinkie swear?" He asked in, meaning that she'd come and get them. Iya was under his other arm. "Promise, Mummy? Promise you won't forget?"

Gracey kissed him, very calm about all of it. She hugged him tightly, then wiggled down to the ground to stand back beside her grandfather. She waved with a scrunched fist at her parents, offering her hand for Ali.
Charity sat on the floor with him, her legs out around him. She took his pinkie finger and then offered the other one to him. "Double pinkie swear." She told him and in a hushed whispered added; "Me and daddy are just going to check everything out Ali, then you and Gracey get to come and cause trouble. You never know, apparently theres a ranch with dogs and cats and horses- maybe we'l find iya a little brother or sister to play picnic with."
She pulled him forwards into her chest and held him tightly. "Now say bye to your dad; like a good little monkey or I'll tell grandpa your not allowed any icecream while your here."
Her eyes went to her father, seeing the look on his face and smirking, shrugging.

"Fiii-iiine-" He sighed and rolled his eyes. Going over he hugged Caleb's legs and gave him a crooked smile. "Bye Daddy, love you!"
"Love you too, Ali." He scooped him up, got a high five and set him back down, watching as his son scrambled to Grace's side and taking her hand in a vice grip. Caleb nodded at Luc, "We'll call you when we get there safely."
Luc nodded, "I'll have my cell on. Safe trip, you two."

Charity gave them both one last kiss on the forehead, murmuring that she loved them. Then hugged her father; "Thanks dad." She smiled and kissed his cheek before going back to Caleb's side. Ready? Well she wasn't sure. Yes, yes of course she was. They needed some time alone, after the trials of the last few months they really did need some time to be a couple. But meeting the family? Leaving the kids?...well maybe thats where they'd gone 'wrong' maybe they should of done this sooner, and it wouldnt of been so hard now...
"Lets go-" She nudged him. "Before you get all emotional." Of course she was teasing as she took his arm.

He took her hand in hers. "Okay, do that weird thing you do." Teasing, he pulled her into her arms and held her tightly. They'd be landing in their Inn and then going from there to a dinner.

She smiled, asked him to close his eyes, and then carried them off towards their two days of freedom. Was it wrong that she saw it a bit like that? Charity hadnt been without the kids, well since before Ali was born, she hadnt been anything but responsible and grown up and...everything she should of been for Grace since she told Caleb on christmas day that she was carrying the child shed promised him. A little fiendish part of her was excited for the hours ahead.
The room was homely and beautiful but nothing like shed really expected. And she let his hand go for a moment, glancing around her and wanting to explore.

He sat on the bed and then flopped backwards, rubbing his eyes. "I dont know about you but I find the fact that Ali was that excited really worrisome."
