Kayden scooped Runa into a hug. "One day, buttercup, I'll be back and I'm taking you and Mommy far from here. We'll go back to Gaia and everything will be alright." He kissed her sunny blond hair. "Can you smile for Daddy?" He asked, tickling her under the chin with one finger. Runa gave him a grin and it literally hurt him. Like daggers to the heart. "That's a good girl."

She took her time to compose herself to clear the tension from out of her body, and when she came back in she found the nanny sat in with Runa, she'd talked the child away from the strange man was was holding her protectively.
"I think you should leave sir." Of course none of the staff knew, it wasnt as if his lordship would bring shame into his whole household.
"No, no." Zoey rescued the sitation. "Its ok...he's my friend."
"My lady?"
Zoey nodded, and collected their daughter, placing her back in Kaydens arms and leaving her hand at his elbow. "A friend from home." She insisted.
The nanny frowned, "Its time for Rosalie's bath anyway, we mustn't break her routine now must we?"
For a moment the life that had been crushed, the look every complitent Black woman could give, flickered through Zoey's eyes, and she wanted so badly to argue that she didn't need someone else to bring up he daughter, that she was a capable mother - but she bit her tongue according to ettiquete and bowed her head. "Just five minutes.." Was she hearing herself? asking permission to spend time with her daughter?

Kayden bit back a growl. "For Goddess' sake, Zoe." He wanted to hit something anything. Gently he put Runa down and held her shoulders. "Don't- Don't let them do this to you. They have no right." His voice trembled with quiet indignation. "She's our daughter and I've seen you with her- You're the best Mam a child could want." He closed his eyes, flashing bright blue with his pure anger. "And why are they calling her Rosalie?"

"Because they do." Her eyes brimmed with tears now they were alone. "Because I have to behave, I have to let him pretend shes his- and goddes Kayden it breaks my heart." Tears rolled from her eyes, and slid over her cheeks. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."

"Let me take you and Runa to Hell. I know you hate the idea- I know that's why you ran in the first place but she'll be safe there and so will you. I don't even care if that one's his or mine." He ranted off, not caring any more. This was literally starting to kill him.

Her hands cupped his face, thumbs stroking his cheeks. Her lips so close to his she couldnt help it, forehead touching she kissed him. "Take Runnie." She whispered. "Take her with you... your parents will help you and you can keep her safe." Zoey was shaking, trembling.

"Zo- I need you." Kayden, in a rare show of an actual emotion, choked up. "I wasn't ready before to be a family but now I am. You have to believe me. I won't hurt you ever again. Just run with me now." His hands tangled in her hair and he kissed her like he'd never let her go. "Please." His tears mixed with hers on their cheeks.

It was so tempting and she was so weak to him. "I can't-" She whispered, but there was nothing convincing in her voice. "Kayden please, you can't ask that of me." But she wanted him too, Zoey wanted it so badly. Yet she knew, dept down, if he'd asked her before she'd gottn pregnant she would've gone with him- now...she couldnt put that on him. What if it wasnt his baby?
The front door sounded. "Zoey-" Came her husbands call and she whimpered, torn between Kaydens arms and duty. Despiringly she kissed him...
"What in the goddess name is-?" Bjorn paused. "I should of known." He growled bitterly.
