"I'm not denying the royalty aspect, just the warm fuzzy happily-ever-after. I've only recently ever known pain, never the carefree ride off into the sunset. If your legendary place provides that, or a glimpse at that, then by all means, please sign me up because that is what I need right now."

Jordyn didnt now if she trusted her enough yet. Leaning on her knees she breathed slowly in and out. "Didn't you ever have anything you really wanted to acheve in your life?"

"Everybody has things in life they want to achieve, but for me, every time I got close to something I wanted, the bottom dropped out & I was back to square one. I'm not saying that to gain pity, it's a simple fact. Things don't work out for you enough times, before long you don't even bother trying. Now I just go day to day & see what comes of it. Good things? Bonus. Bad things? Learn from them, build walls & move on. But that way of living is starting to wear me down. I'm getting tired of holding everything at arm's length, you know?"

"I know." She sighed with the girl. Then offered, perhaps because she was tired and hormonal. "Wanna get a coffee cub? I could do with stretching me legs" After the op her legs would ache if she didnt move them so often. It was something that she'd have to get use to all over again, having working muslces and good movement.

"Caffeine would be lovely right now." Lexi smiled. She got to her feet somewhat easily this time despite the cold, all her dizziness had long since passed. She offered her hand. "Would you like some help?"

Jordyn almost growled at her, only this time fr being nice rather than being petulant. But she just gritted her teeth and held back the hardened sound. Shaking her head, she said. "I can manage- thank you" Though the words were a little forced it was the best the girl was going to get. "I'm not an invalid."

The minute they made eye contact, Lexi knew she'd said the wrong thing. Kindness was probably not the best route to take after being so snotty with this woman this whole time. Her gritted response proved that. Laugh it off.
"OK one of those strong independent types, I hear ya. Well lead the way then."

Strong, independant type...huh. Jordyn wasn't sure, she knew at this point someone in the pack would step in and say something about her being pigheaded and stubborn. But she'd been looking after herself and many many others since she was 15, she didn't take kindly to having that sense of control taken away from her. Walking, less ably then the girl, she moved slowly to start with. Yeh her eg definatly felt numb wih the cold.
"Isn't there a saying about old dogs and new tricks?" She murmured, trying to keep that easy atmosphere.
