Lexi smiled when she saw the marshmellows make their appearance. I guess this woman's not all hard & grown up, there's still warmth & youth in there... She thought to herself.
"Oh I know that, it's just I want you to feel somewhat involved. I mean for the moment, we know each other. You'll probably forget my face & name in a week's time yeh? But at least you can say you influenced an adventure. That doesn't seem quite as much of a downer as "making my decision" sounds, does it?" She grinned across the table as she held her cup out.
"Could I bum a few of those?"

Jordyn chuckled gently, and tipped the packet up a few more times over the girls cup, letting the mini mashmallows sink into the hot liquid. Then she stiffled them away once more into her rucksack. "Adventure, eh Cub?" she asked her. "What sort of adventure then? Discovery? Magic? Romance?" She quizzed playfully. "Or perhaps your more of a battle hardened girl?" Jordyn was.

The corners of Lexi's mouth came up when she heard the questions. She was being quizzed. She answered, just as playfully.
"Hmmm... Discovery would be nice, like an uncharted territory, or maybe someplace that was like a roach motel kinda deal - I can go there, but it's so secret that I can never return. Magic? If Peter Pan, Tink & the lost boys existed, I'd say sign me up! Romance? I'm afraid I know all too well it doesn't survive long after 'Oh by the way hunny, about the full moon...'
"All of the above does appeal to what little wanderlust I haven't murdered yet, but all in all, I think I'm heading towards the last one, to be honest. Too much has happened to not be wary of everything that comes my way, but I still take a chance here & there, to prove that I'm alive. Add a little excitement. Too bad there wasn't a place left in this crazy world that provided something for all of the above eh?"
She chuckled as sipped her drink, quickly licking at the marshmellow that clung to her upper lip. Pretty hard to have a semi-serious conversation when you look like a giddy 5-year-old.

Romance didn't exsist. Jordyn just smirked into her mug. "you know, when I said that to my husband- well he was my boyfriend at the time he laughed and said; 'you mean I'll have one night uninterupted, without nagging and full of poker?'...after which he did get less understanding every month. Personally I think the boys finally understand what mortals mean when they're having a time of the month."
She sipped her drink again, then said. "Not that he's my husband anymore."

"Indeed, I guess the men-folk kinda get it now when you put it like that. Should I say I'm sorry about your husband? I mean, you're not with him anymore so hopefully that implies someone more understanding of our lunarly challenged-ness took his place, am I right? You met someone else? Moved on?"
Lexi's eyes glittered a little. More of that hope for something that doesn't exist. She dropped her eyes to her mug.
"Sorry... That's personal. I know romance doesn't exist & I am the next best thing to jaded over the whole thing, but I dunno, sometimes, a spark of Disney just gets rekindled for a second when I hear about it from anyone else. But we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."

Jordyn laughed; "No you shouldn't be sorry; he was difficult." Though she didn't answer the questions about moving on. After all, after Jordyn told everyone about the baby she wasn't totally sure. She just watched the girl, eyebrow quirked again. "My godness pup you babble on like a tot, did you know?" And she slunk back into irritated old alpha again.

Lexi's cheeks flushed a bit at the last comment, & her eyes took on that "Deer-in-headlights" look before she lowered them again to her nearly empty cup.
"Oh shit. Sorry, I didn't even realize. I don't usually. In fact I never do. Always best to keep things quiet, say what you need to in as little words as you can. Habit. It's got me this far. But I can't explain it, it's different somehow right now. With you. I have no idea why."

Laughing she shook her head; "right oh, pup." she teased gently.
